Advantages of mobile location data

The use of mobile network data for the estimation of visitor counts offers a number of important  advantages and synergies with other approaches:

  • The use of large-scale, well-distributed samples of the whole population allows an accurate estimation of the total number of visitors without the need to deploy expensive sensorisation solutions.
  • Unlike other technologies, mobile network data allow the obtention of visitor origin and profiling information.
