Nommon participates in Transforming Transportation 2025

Ricardo Herranz and Luisa Chaves represented Nommon at this year’s Transforming Transportation conference, which focused on the skills, policies, and resources needed to transition from planning to implementing equitable, sustainable, and resilient transportation systems.

Nommon participated in this year’s Transforming Transportation conference, organised by the World Bank and the World Resources Institute (WRI), which took place in Washington, D.C., on 12-13 March 2025. This flagship event brings together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss a variety of topics related to transport policies, infrastructures, and services. For the third consecutive year, Nommon took part in the event, further consolidating its presence in the international transport community.

Attending as part of the Spanish delegation led by ICEX, Ricardo Herranz, Nommon’s CEO, and Luisa Chaves, Business Development Director, engaged with key stakeholders to share Nommon’s vision for AI-driven mobility solutions. Throughout the conference, they took part in high-level discussions on how digitalisation is transforming the transport sector, enabling more efficient and sustainable mobility systems. A key milestone in this year’s participation was Ricardo Herranz’s role as a speaker in the breakout session “Digitalisation and AI for Safe Transportation”, hosted by ICEX, where he highlighted the potential of big data and AI-powered analytics in transport planning and road safety.

Nommon’s role at Transforming Transportation 2025

Nommon’s participation revolved around a rich programme of discussions, presentations, and networking events organised by ICEX and the Economic & Trade Office of Spain in Washington D.C., as well as the panels and debates hosted by the Transforming Transportation conference itself.

The agenda kicked off with a keynote address by the Spanish Ambassador to the United States, followed by different sectoral panels showcasing pioneering solutions and projects in urban mobility, rail transport, road safety, and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). Among these, Aiga Stokenberga, from the World Bank’s Transport team, presented a project in which Nommon participated, highlighting the value of mobile phone data in generating detailed origin-destination matrices for cities such as Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Medellín, and Asunción. Another key meeting organised by ICEX was a strategic session at the Chilean Embassy, where Nommon met with representatives from the country, including the Ministry of Transport Carlos Muñoz Abogabir and the technical and financial team of Dirección de Transporte Público Metropolitano (DTPM) of Chile. The discussion focused on the renewal of the fleet management system for the public bus network of Santiago de Chile.
