Senior Transport Analytics Consultant

Over the past decade, Nommon has been a pioneer in the application of big data to the analysis of travel demand. Our Mobility Insights solution processes and analyses anonymised mobile network data and other geolocation data from mobile devices to provide high-quality mobility indicators (e.g., origin-destination matrices). An ambitious research and development strategy has put Nommon at the forefront of innovation in the mobility analytics market and has led to continuous growth.

We are looking for an experienced professional to join Nommon as Senior Transport Analytics Consultant. The role involves leading a team of engineers and data scientists in the deployment of our industry-leading analytics solutions for a variety of clients (transport authorities, transport operators and concessionaires, transport consultants, etc.) in different geographical markets, including Spain, UK, Brazil and Colombia, among others.

Job description

You will work alongside an international, multidisciplinary team of talented product engineers and data scientists to deliver solutions for a large variety of clients from all over the world. Reporting to Nommon Mobility Analytics Director, responsibilities include:

• Planning and allocating resources across multiple projects based on Nommon Mobility Analytics’ solution portfolio.
• Supervising and coordinating the activities of the project teams, ensuring that projects are delivered in time, to budget, and meeting the required quality standards.
• Guiding and supporting project leaders in technical activities, such as the development of customised transport analytics methodologies and tools;
• Guiding and supporting project leaders in client liaison activities, such as contract meetings, reporting, resolution of technical issues, contract renegotiation, etc.
• Collaborating with the product development team in the continuous improvement of Nommon Mobility Analytics’ products and services, by assessing client feedback and deriving recommendations and lessons learnt;
• Training and mentoring new staff.
• Supporting business development activities (e.g., proposal writing).

Qualifications and skills

Required:

• MSc in a relevant engineering field, preferably with a background in Transport Engineering.
• Good knowledge of concepts, principles and theories of transport planning and modelling.
• +5 years of experience in leading complex technology or consulting projects.
• Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects.
• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on both technical and management issues.
• Ability to educate clients and advise them on how to best use Nommon’s solutions.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent English and Spanish oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have, but not indispensable:

• Experience in transport planning and/or traffic management projects.
• Experience in other sectors dealing with geospatial data, such as urban planning, tourism and geomarketing.
• Experience in data analytics projects.
• Good command of a third language (especially Portuguese, Italian or German).
